Prayer Requests/Praises

• Elizabeth's stepmom, Pam, is having surgery; pray for her health and for everything to go smoothly; also for a quick recovery, she is also moving to a new apt soon
• Josh Murphy's dad is with a group in Haiti right now; pray for their safety and for God to be glorified there
• Kala - Praise for a good report from Titus' doc appt last week; also pray for her sister-in-law's dad who has stage 4 lung cancer, he is in ICU
• Sewells - praise the Lord for their letter of approval!; they are officially cleared to adopt their baby girl in China.  Paula - lift up her uncle who has cancer.
• Natalie Jackson - has unofficially accepted a new job; pray for her as she tells her boss about leaving
• Meredith's grandmother diagnosed with a brain tumor;  may the Lord keep her in good spirits and be a blessing to those around her
• Brooke Elam - My aunt's nephew converted to Islam to marry a girl he met overseas; pray that they would be surrounded by Christ followers and for their eyes to be open to Truth
• Ashleigh Ray's cousin, Karen, is in rehab; she has gone through detox and is now able to call and write letters; pray for her continued recovery as she's there for 3-8 more months
• Elam's sis-in-law found new job; praise for God providing 
• Littles with their new baby boy, Grayson

• Blakelys - Titus goes to the neurosurgeon on Friday for a check-up; pray for another year of good news
• Ashley Little is having her baby August 16th! Pray for everything to go well and for a healthy baby and momma
• Paula's uncle was recently diagnosed with cancer; he's only in his early 60's; pray for him, and his wife as they deal with this news 
• Meredith - the recreational minister at Valleydale Baptist, the church she grew up in, recently had a heart attack and died; lift us his family, the Murrays
• Registers - praise that they had a safe trip to Australia 
• Brooke - forgot to mention this Sunday; my friend, Brittany, is being induced on Wednesday morning; may everyone be healthy

Announcements

• Praise God! Brian and Laura Sewell have stepped up and will be our new teachers.  So glad to have them!
• August 14 - everyone will be in sanctuary for church; it's high attendance Sunday, so invite people! 
• Little's baby shower is this Saturday at the Ray's house 4-6PM
• The Littles have scheduled a c-section for Aug. 16
• The Murphys will be helping with the middle schoolers during Sunday school
• Girls - Brooke Elam's parents are getting back in town later this week; She will talk to them about which dates would be better for the beach b/c it's now split even on who can go when; She will let ya'll know early next week when we'll be going

• Johnson's house to sell 
• Ashleigh Ray - her cousin, Karen, is on drugs and has had her 4 kids taken away from her; intervention is coming this week.  UPDATE:  Karen was receptive to the intervention and is now in California for detox and follow-through with the intervention.  They are expecting her to be there for several months.  Please continue to pray for her and her family.
• Elam's sister, Rachel returned safely from Africa; praise God for her time there
• Mill's - Sandy's dad is in the hospital with double pneumonia, please pray for a quick and easy recover for him.  Matt & Erin Glover (Matt is the head coach at Pinson) - Erin is 6 months pregnant and having severe pain; this is their first child.  Also, the team is practicing out in the heat for two-a-days; please pray for their health & safety.

Announcements

• Little's baby shower is at the Ray's house on Aug. 6 from 4-6.  For gifts, bring practical things (diapers, wipes, etc)
• Breakfast sign up is at takethemameal.com   Name is Johnson and password is fbct.
• A different caregroup will be going to lunch each Sunday.  This will allow us to get together with our care groups more often and get to know our visitors better by inviting them to lunch.  This will start in August.  Be on the lookout for an email from your caregroup leaders!
• The church is collecting dark colored yarn for the mission trip to Thailand.  
• Possible new teacher will be there next week to check out the class!
• Meredith announced the children's choir is looking for help on Sunday nights for the fall.

Announcements

• Little's Baby Shower is August 6, from 4-6p.  Hosted by the Rays.  More information to come.
• Small groups will start having informal Sunday lunches:  Blakelys (1st Sunday), Elams (2nd Sunday), Morgans (3rd Sunday).  Basically, the small group leaders will plan to go out for Sunday lunch once a month.  If you can attend with your group, feel free...if not, no problem :)  We just want to keep our class connected and help the new couples to plug-in easily.

Prayer Requests/Praises

• Meredith Morgan - the worship minister, Keith Martin, from her church she grew up in passed away; pray for his family and friends
• Elams - Praise that my friend's husband made it home safely and on time and before she had their baby! ; my parents left today for a trip to South Africa, please pray for their safety and that they would glorify God while they are there; Joshua's sister, Rachel is coming home Monday from Africa; pray for the people she witnessed to - that they would grasp who God is and how much He loves them; also pray for Rachel; we got an email today asking for prayer because she is sick and is hoping to be able to visit with the villagers the last few days she is there
• Mills - Praise they found people to rent their house in Montgomery!
• Rileys - Conner, the little boy in Zadie's class, is having surgery Wednesday to remove the brain tumor (hope that is right Leigh!); also pray for his mom to do what is best for her son and put her selfishness aside for him; Leigh's niece (4 1/2 years old) has expressed in very grown-up words that she is ready to be saved; praise God He can work through even young children!
• Ashley Horsley's dad is doing great!
• Natalie Jackson's brother-in-law was able to find a job in time so they don't have to pay for insurance (their son has muscular dystrophy); praise God for his perfect timing!
• Little's baby is due Aug. 20; pray for Ashley, her back has been really hurting her
• Johnson's with their move and during this transition time
• Our class - may we be obedient to Him and may we keep growing closer to each other and Him as a class, especially during this time
